Chinese new year na! Kung hei fat choi! (~~,)v

It's been several years since my family started practicing Chinese New Year traditions. We're not Chinese by the way. I think my lolo has a Chinese blood line, then passed to my mother then down to us. In short, parang latak na lang yung sa'min. hahaha..

Anyway, during Chinese new year tikoy is definitely included in the list. Parang kulang kapag walang tikoy. hehe.. Ano bang swerte ang dala ng TIKOY? Basta alam ko masarap lang sya eh. Haha.. Baka para malagkit ang pasok ng swerte, kasing lagkit ng pawis! haha.. joke! (~~,)v

We also have lucky charms for the year. Since it's the Year of the Ox, Ox figurines are in. Last year, I bought a "lucky" Rat figurine for them. So ngayon, Ox naman ang bibilhin ko. Just recently, mama bought a "lucky" fountain. Hmmm... I really dunno kung effective sya and how lucky it is, well, nothing to lose naman except yung perang pinangbili nun. haha!

Unforgettable din nung thesis days namin. Natapat sa Chinese New Year, so natry din ng groupmates ko ang chinese ekek practice namin. haha.. Binigyan kami ni mama ng paper para dun daw ilagay ang wishes namin. Hindi sya ordinary paper, dahil may magic ang papel na yun! hahaha.. Tapos on 12MN, susunugin yun. Voila! Pumasa kami sa thesis. haha.. Pero syempre, hindi dahil sa magic paper yun. Dahil sa'min. (~~,)v

Anyway, just like I said. There's nothing to lose when you practice such traditions or rituals. Kung effective, maganda. Kung hindi, ok lang. Just don't depend much on these things.

One Great 2008!

Here’s my year-end review as I bid farewell to such a great 2008. The past year has been another roller-coaster ride – full of loops, ups and downs. It could have ended up drastically but Thank God it didn’t. Phew!

2008 counts our 5th year as a couple. We celebrated our anniversary at Club Manila East, Taytay, Rizal. I also won’t forget that weeks before that a serial killer was reportedly on the loose. Na-praning ako! harhar.. o_O


New knowledge and learning. This year I pursued to learn .NET technology and together with my bestfriend, we enrolled for VB.NET and ASP.NET short courses at UPITTC. Back to school! Woohoo! It was such a nice experience studying there. At least even for a short period I studied at UP! Haha… And that was the first time I experienced travelling for 1.5 hours just to reach school! Well, it was worth the travel, libre food eh! Hahaha… Joke!


This was also the year of the Shutterbug. Mid-2008 was my sudden drive to learn Photography and that’s when my baby Friday was born! Hehe… A Canon EOS 450D DSLR (Etymology: It was bought on a Friday night). Due to the yearning of being a shutterbug, I bought one for myself and I still have 6 months to pay for it. Haha! I’m still a newbie up to this time, but I’m enjoying!


The time has also come to take a leap. I bid farewell to my first corporate home – Cocolife. I cried ‘coz I’ll surely miss my friends there. Drama talaga! haha.. But seriously, I will miss the daily bonding. Thanks to them for organizing such a memorable despedida at Center Stage KTV, Jupiter Makati. Saya talaga! Just as I said before, if for the friendship I won’t leave but I need to move on with my career. It’s already been 6 months, but I’m happy to know that the friendship still remains!


Hello Digisoft. My second corporate home. Mapuans are all-over the place, including Par Nhix, so I didn’t have a hard time adjusting. I won’t forget that I was almost late on my first day! Seconds na lang! Haha… Pasaway talaga! o_O New environment. New shift. New project. New technology. New experience. New friends.


I had two major out-of-town trips this year - Sagada and Ilocos. This is the start to tour my country's pride! Woohoo! hehe.. Definitely more trips this 2009! haha.. Travelling was also my opportunity to have lots and lots of photoshoots! hehe..



Just thinking of all the happy thoughts happened the past year, I soo love it! hehe.. Nevermind all the misfortunes. It strengthen me anyway. Thanks to all the persons who have been a part of my happy 08! Hopefully 2009 will bring more happiness and blessings. A blessed new year to everyone!

Wish No. 1: 50mm lens/55-200mm lens/18-300mm lens
Ah basta lens! hahaha.. Wag lang yung 18-55mm kasi meron na ko nun, though nasira sya. huhuhu.. Btw, this only applies to my loving parents and mayamang kuya. Haha! Shouldering half the price is a nice offer. haha.. Kapal ko!

Wish No. 2: Team Manila Shirt
Medium, Women's Tee. Nilagay ko na yan sa white board namin sa office and I hope my monito/monita will grant my wish! Kaso yung kris kringle gifts nga wala pa rin ako narereceive eh.. I've been good naman ah.. huhu.. o_O

Wish No. 3: Coin Bank
Dunno what's with me but I've been bugging my bestfriend for a coin bank, in tagalog, alkansya! hahaha.. But unfortunately, he doesn't want that for me kasi gusto nya gumasta ako! Huwaw! Very good influence! haha.. But seriously, I want a big cute coin bank! Yung unique ha. Not the usual coin bank. I also don't like the cigarette-style, no to smoking! ehrrr..

Wish No. 4: Spongebob stufftoy
I still don't have one yet. Keychain stufftoy lang. hmmmm.. So I want the biggest spongebob stufftoy on earth! nyahaha.. kidding!

I already have bedsheet and pillowcases, so I want a comforter this time. hahaha..

My Obama Aftermath

November 4, 2008. US elections.

November 5, 2008. Obama was announced as the 44th President of the United States of America. McCain humbly conceded.

Considering that there are 50 states in America, their election is only a blink of an eye.

And I was surprised though I should not be, knowing that USA is the most powerful country in the world - It is possible. But I can't help but compare their election process to ours. It takes us several weeks to conclude the winner, another week of cheating issues, another week of bitterness, another week of bloodshed, and if things don't go well as expected, another week of re-election. Now, I envy them.

2010. Philippines marks another year for election. This will also be my first time to practice my right of suffrage. We may be too far from the speedy election the US had, but hopefully, ours will be as peaceful and honest as theirs.

Minsan na nga lang o_O

Got up from bed earlier than my usual time. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, gusto ko pumasok ng maaga. Niloloko ko yata sarili ko. hahaha.. joke! So after getting ready for another day at the office, nagbyebye na ko kay Mama.

I took a cab.. naks! cab! hehe.. pedicab! haha.. joke! Tricycle naman. Traffic ang sumalubong sa'kin with matching usok sa bumubugang tambutso ng tricycle na nasa harap namin. Fresh air! Argh! Buti na lang, wais si manong drayber at nagcounter-flow sya sa other lane habang walang dumadaan. Nice! So baba na ko.

Papunta na ko sa terminal ng jeep, biglang may manong na lumapit sa'kin. Magtatanong lang daw sya, pulis daw sya, pero hindi naman sya mukhang pulis kasi hindi naman sya naka-uniform. Biglang nagising ang diwa ko.. Eng?? Anong meron? o_O Kasi kapareho ko daw ng damit yung hinahanap nila na magnanakaw. Huwaaatt??? Ang gandang salubong naman sa umaga ko. Tinanong nya ko kung saan ako galing, nagtratrabaho na ba ko at kung ano daw ang cellphone ko. Sa isip-isip ko ano koneksyon? Napansin nya hesitant ako sagutin. Inulit nya sabihin na pulis sya. Malay ko ba kung pulis nga sya. harhar.. Kasi daw N95 daw yung nakuha. Eh di sinabi ko naman Sony Ericsson. Pati model tinanong. Eh panu kaya kung N95 ang phone ko, baka biglang presinto na ituloy ang tanungan! harhar.. After ko sagutin lahat nun. Ayun tapos na, nakipag-apir pa sya sa'kin. Kaloka!

Nung nasa jeep na ko, bigla ko napraning. Panu kung hindi pulis yun? Panu kung magnanakaw pala sya? Panu kung napunta ko sa presinto? Ehrrr.. Buti na lang, wala ng ibang nangyari kundi tanungan lang talaga.

Geesh! What a start! Minsan na nga lang ako papasok ng maaga, malas pa...
